Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our heritage footwear and services.

What makes Goodyear-welted construction superior?

Goodyear-welting is the hallmark of high-quality shoemaking. It involves stitching a welt to the upper and insole, allowing for multiple resoles over decades, exceptional water resistance, and a personalized fit as the cork filler molds to your foot.

How do I determine my correct size in different lasts?

Each Crockett & Jones 'last' has unique characteristics. While most customers remain consistent in their UK sizing, some lasts offer a more generous fit (like the 325) or a slimmer profile (like the 348). We recommend consulting our comprehensive Last Guide before purchase.

Do you offer international shipping and what are the costs?

Yes, we ship worldwide via tracked courier services. Shipping costs and estimated delivery times are calculated at checkout based on your location. Please note that international orders may be subject to local import duties and taxes.

What is your return policy for online orders?

We accept returns within 28 days of delivery, provided the shoes are in unworn, pristine condition and returned in their original packaging. We recommend trying your shoes on a carpeted surface to avoid marking the leather soles.

Can my Crockett & Jones shoes be repaired by the factory?

Absolutely. We offer a full factory refurbishment service where your shoes are returned to our Northampton factory. Our craftsmen will replace the soles and heels using the original lasts to ensure the shape and integrity of the shoe is maintained.

How should I care for my fine leather footwear?

To prolong the life of your shoes, we recommend using cedar wood shoe trees after every wear, allowing 24 hours between wears to let the leather dry, and regularly applying high-quality wax polish or cream to keep the leather nourished.
